Idea for a Very Comfortable Walking Stick Handle
I had an idea about making a hiking stick handle that has an off-set shoulder that would fit into a closed hand a bit more comfortably. I've used an off-cut of Xylia I had in the workshop to try it out.
With a bit of jiggery pokery and off-centre turning I have got the shape about right and sanded it. It had to go in and out of the lathe a few times to get the handle how I wanted it, but the idea seems to work well.
Right now it looks a bit phallic! The handle needs to be about 50mm longer with some detail at the top, and it will be better if it flares down to the brass ferrule to look really nice.
